On July 11, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration jointly issued an announcement, issuing GB/T 18883-2022 "Indoor Air Quality Standards" (hereinafter referred to as GB/T 18883-2022), since February 2023 It will be implemented on the 1st.

GB/T 18883-2022 replaces GB/T 18883-2002. Compared with GB/T 18883-2002, except for structural adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added 4 terms and definitions of "fine particulate matter", "1-hour average", "8-hour average" and "24-hour average"; deleted the term and definition of "standard state"; changed "indoor air quality index" Three terms and definitions such as "inhalable particulate matter" and "total volatile organic compounds";

b) Three indicators and requirements for trichlorethylene, tetrachlorethylene and fine particulate matter have been added;

c) Change "Air Velocity" to "Wind Velocity";

d) Change "summer air conditioning" and "winter heating" in the temperature, relative humidity and wind speed remarks to "summer" and "winter";

e) Change "total number of bacterial colonies" to "total number of bacteria";

f) Changed the requirements for 7 indicators including nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide, formaldehyde, benzene, inhalable particulate matter, total number of bacteria and radon;

g) Changed the control requirements for radon, and changed the "action level" to "reference level";

h) Added technical content such as environmental requirements, sample transportation and storage, parallel sample inspection, result expression, laboratory safety, etc.;

i) Changed the measurement method and source of 11 indicators including temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, fresh air volume, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, formaldehyde (spectrophotometry), and added trichlorethylene , the determination method and method source of tetrachlorethylene and fine particulate matter, and the recommended sampling method parameters have been added;

j) The determination methods for five indicators including formaldehyde (high performance liquid chromatography), benzo[a]pyrene, inhalable particulate matter, fine particulate matter and radon have been added, and benzene, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), bacterial Determination method of 3 indicators such as total number.

GB/T 18883-2022 stipulates the physical, chemical, biological and radioactive indicators and requirements of indoor air quality, and describes the measurement methods of each indicator.

physical index

Including four physical indicators such as temperature, relative humidity, air velocity and fresh air volume.

Chemical indicators

Including ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), benzo[a]pyrene, respirable particulate matter PM10, fine particulate matter PM2.5 and other 14 chemical indicators.

biological indicators

Include the total number of colonies as a parameter.

radioactive index

Include radon 1 parameter.
