The Wi-Fi certification is aimed at wireless LAN products based on the IEEE 802.11b standard. The Wi-Fi certification is issued by a non-profit industrial organization, namely WECA. Wi-Fi (short for Wireless Fidelity) is a standard for wireless LAN interoperability. Manufacturers' products can only be labeled with Wi-Fi on their products if they fully meet Wi-Fi standards and pass Wi-Fi certification. The Wi-Fi label is a registered trademark of WECA (Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance). Manufacturers can use this trademark only with the authorization of WECA.
